The European Commission leaves Bulgaria 2019 GDP growth estimate at 3.3%

The European Commission released its summer economic forecast, leaving the estimates for Bulgaria unchanged. For 2019 the institution projected 3.3% GDP growth and 3.4% for the year later. The main economic driver according to the Commission will be private consumption boosted by higher disposable income and consumer confidence. Investment spending is expected to increase due to higher capacity utilization and favorable economic environment. The 2019, resurgence of exports outside the EU is also expected to support the recovery of GDP growth. Furthermore, the change in HICP is expected to ease to 2.4% in 2019 and retract further to 1.7% in the following year.
