Data with 98.30% vote count of the election protocols from Bulgaria’s Central Election Commission (CEC) revealed that GERB-UDF came first in 27 October snap election for the national parliament (7th election in the last 3 years) with 26.46% (24.70% in the previous election). The coalition We Continue The Change-Democratic Bulgaria came second with 14.38% (14.33% previously). Third is Eurosceptic party Revival with 13.46% (13.78% previously), followed by Movement for Rights and Freedoms – New Beginning with 11.18%, the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) with 7.62% (7.06% previously), the Alliance for Rights and Freedoms with 7.29%, There Is Such a People (TISP) with 6.84% (5.96% previously), Mech with 4.62% and Velichie with 4.04% (4.65% previously).
Note that Movement for Rights and Freedoms – New Beginning and the Alliance for Rights and Freedoms were formed as a result of the split of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, which won 17.07% in the previous election while Mech is a newly formed party. The highly fragmented parliament makes the forming of government even a more challenging task than before.
