Agreement to Be Signed with British Nuclear Operator on Nuclear Energy Co-operation.

An agreement between Bulgarian Kozlodoui Nuclear Plant and state-owned British Nuclear Fuel Ltd. (generally known by the acronym BNFL) can be signed in April according to Ivan Shilyashki, Chairman of Bulgaria's State Agency for Energy and Energy Resources. On Monday Shilyashki held talks at the Trade and Industry Ministry in London on bilateral co-operation in the nuclear energy sector. Discussions were focused on decommissioning of nuclear facilities, nuclear operation management, the methods of storing spent fuel, and modern technologies for building new reactors. BNFL is one of the world leaders in this branch. Last autumn, Bulgaria signed a framework agreement with the company, envisaging a feasibility study for joint operation of the four smaller reactors in Kozlodoui
