The Bulgarian Agriculture Ministry has been assured of the domestic commercial banks' support for the introduction of preferential conditions for lending to farmers under the SAPARD programme, it emerged Monday after a meeting between Agriculture Minister Ventsislav Vurbanov and the managers of the State Agriculture Fund with representatives of the commercial banks. The readiness of the financial institutions to co-finance the projects of private agricultural producers under the SAPARD programme was also discussed at the meeting. The banks undertook to streamline the procedures for considering and approving the projects of credit applicants.
