The engineering and geological conditions on the terrain in Belene allow the construction of a nuclear power plant, experts from the laboratory for geo-technique at the Bulgarian Academy of Science /BAS/ in Rousse announced. According to the energy experts the completion of the construction of N-Plant Belene will cost USD 1.2-1.5 billion, if the 1,000 MW unit BBER in Belene is finalised. If its capacity is decreased to 600-640 MW, the price of the unit will rise by about USD 300m. The construction of two units will make it possible to decrease the price, because the same assisting equipment will be used.
