Bulgaria's new passenger car registrations +4.3% YoY in December and +9.7% in 2021

New passenger cars registrations in Bulgaria increased by 4.3% YoY to 1.8k units in Dec’21, while registering 9.7% YoY increase to 24.5k in 2021, data by the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) reveal. In December alone, EU new car registrations declined by 22.8 YoY totalling 0.8m units. Overall in 2021, registrations of new cars in the EU fell by 2.4% YoY to 9.7m, due to the negative impact of the microchip shortage on vehicle output throughout the year. The total sales of cars over the full year saw the biggest increase in Italy (+5.5%), followed by Spain (+1.0%) and France (+0.5%) with modest growth compared to last year.
