Central Europe Tourist Markets Show Increased Interest in Bulgarian Destinations.

The number of Czech tourists for summer 2001 could be expected to increase by 30-35% as compared to 2000 judging by the bookings at the Holiday World 2001 event held in Prague February 8-11, the Economy Ministry said. The number of Czech tourists that came to Bulgaria in 2000 increased by 27.8% year-on-year to 28,992. Slovak tourists are also expected to increase in 2001 since in that country Bulgaria is on the top 10 list of tourist destinations ahead of Spain, Greece and Turkey. Six Polish tourist agencies will offer holiday packages in Bulgaria in 2001 and, after a three-year interruption, three Hungarian tour operators will offer Bulgarian destinations at their market.
