Turkish consortium including businessman Aidin Dogan and ex-owner of Demirbank Halit Chingiliolu is the potential new owner of Demirbank Bulgaria. The Turkish Bank Regulation Agency approved the deal, but the new owner must get permission from the Bulgarian National Bank as well. The consortium won the tender for a package of assets of four structures of the bank aboard, offering USD 95m. Last year, in December, the Turkish Deposit Guarantee Fund took control over Demirbank because of bank’s financial problems.
