Bulgaria’s Aug’20 harmonized consumer price index /HICP/ gained 0.4% on a monthly basis and added 0.6% on an annual basis. Prices of food and non-alcoholic drinks, which have the largest weight in the index, lost 0.4% MoM (+4.2% YoY). Prices of utilities, on the other hand, added 0.1% MoM (+0.8% YoY), while those of transportation increased 3.4% MoM (-6.5% YoY). The price index for restaurants and hotels advanced by 0.3% MoM (+0.7% YoY). YTD inflation stood at 0.6% while the average annual HICP for the last 12 months was 1.8%.
