Bulgaria’s Aug’23 harmonised consumer price index /HICP/ increased 0.5% MoM (+7.5% YoY). The inflation since the beginning of the year came to 4.6%, while the average annual HICP for the last 12 months stood at 11.6%. Prices of food and non-alcoholic drinks, which have the largest weight in the index, registered an increase of 0.2% on a monthly basis (+12.5% YoY). Prices of transport were up 3.3% MoM (-2.5% YoY), followed by health prices with 0.6% MoM (+13.8% YoY). On the other hand, housing prices marked 0.2% MoM decrease (+0.1% YoY), while clothing (+6.5% YoY) decreased 2.2% MoM.
