Sales in industry are rising, according to National Statistics Institute data announced Wednesday. The rise is 5.1% in the January-May period against the like period a year ago. Sales have increased by 5.5% in the manufacturing industry, and by 7.7% in the electricity, heating, gas fuel and water supply sector. The extractive industry sees a drop of 8.3%. Sales in exported goods have gone up by 5% in the January-May period from the like period in 2000, despite a 3.6% drop in May against the year-ago period. On the domestic market sales have increased by 4.4% in the January-May period, and by 11.8% in May, in year-to-year comparison.
