Prista Oil Ltd., Bulgaria's biggest lubricant producer 25%-owned by Texaco, will spend $2 mln in the remainder of 2004 to deploy a network of customer service centres as the company shifts the focus of investment spending from production capacity to market penetration, managing board chairman Plamen Bobokov said. The investment in the 75 outlets, 25 of which have already been completed, is expected to be recouped within 5 years even at 50% of operational capacity. The centres will sell products by Prista Oil, MonBat and Texaco, Bobokov said, adding that one of the goals is to increase turnover by 25%. Some 150 customer service centres will have to be built to cover Bulgaria's territory, Bobokov said. Six of the outlets will be constructed in Sofia. The first customer service center abroad will be built in Bucharest with plans for outlets in Hungary as well. The Prista Oil production facility in Turkish city Izmit is on track to overshoot the 10,000-ton full-year output target by 5,000-6,000 tons, Bobokov said, adding that a couple of Turkish holdings and one major international firm have made partnership proposals. The Rousse-based Prista Oil, co-founded by brothers Atanas and Plamen Bobokov, does business in Romania, Turkey, Macedonia, Hungary and Ukraine and last year posted a turnover of 36.4 mln euro.
