A total of 30 companies from various sectors - exporters of metal, foodstuffs, aluminium components, footwear and textiles - have insured their exports at the Bulgarian Export Insurance Agency (BAEZ) in 2000 and 2001. The Agency was established in 1998 and the scope of business is still small. It offers export credit insurance against short-term commercial risks; export credit insurance against short-term non-commercial risks; export credit insurance against medium-term commercial and non-commercial risks; and insurance of bank loans extended in pre-export financing. The Agency has signed agreements with Commercial Bank Biochim, the Municipal Bank, Demirbank, United Bulgarian Bank, BNP Dresdnerbank, Roseximbank, ING Bank and Raiffeisenbank, etc.
