Overnight stays in Bulgarian hotels were 413.7k (+8x YoY) in Apr’21 compared to 49.5k in Apr’20, when the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions were in place. The number of tourists stood at 197.2k, compared to 16.5k in Apr’20. The average occupancy rate of the hotels increased by 7.4 p.p. YoY to 13.5%, with highest occupancy rate for 4&5-star hotels at 15.7%, followed by 3-star and 1&2-star hotels, operating at 13.6% and 11.3%, respectively. Monthly revenue reached BGN 21.9m, compared to BGN 2.3m a year ago.
