Pilot's Strike Continues.

All Saturday flights of the Balkan Bulgarian Airlines and its flights planned until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday have been cancelled. The Balkan pilots will continue their protest, the Chairman of the Civil Aviation Pilots Union Todor Simeonov told. On Saturday he raised two demands to Balkan's Chief Executive Officer Andrew Gray: that the pilots be answered how their confidence will be restored and how the owners would guarantee the airline's successful development. The pilots have also set forth their motives for refusing to fly to Transport and Communications Minister Antoni Slavinski. Slavinski promised that he will meet the Balkan managers on Monday and will try to mediate in a settlement of the dispute between the pilots and their employer. "Our common goal is, basically, to remove tensions in the company and to achieve a civilised solution to the problem," the Minister said. "At this stage, it is almost impossible to address all grievances of the airline's strikers," Slavinski observed. He admitted that Balkan is in a grave financial crisis. "The Government cannot involve itself with the financial problems of a private company, but when it does not perform the functions listed in a certificate granted to it by the Ministry of Transport, it may forfeit this certificate
