According to seasonally-adjusted data from NSI, retail trade turnover (excluding motor vehicles and motorcycles) increased by 0.8% MoM in May‘26. On an annual basis, the working day adjusted index was 7.9% higher. The sub-index that registered the biggest move on a monthly basis was ‘Retail sales of textiles, clothing, footwear and leather goods in specialised stores’ (+4% MoM; +23% YoY), while ‘Dispensing chemist; retail sales of medical and orthopaedic goods’ registered a 1.6% decrease (-2.5% YoY).
