The number of new tax debtors in Bulgaria is 160, the revised public bulletin shows. The total amount of outstanding taxes stands at BGN 1.820 billion. The Agency for Government Claims has been approached over 93 cases, 73 debtors have been banned from leaving Bulgaria, 24 have been deprived of their international passports. Fifty-one debtors dropped out of the end-January list, 20 of them paid off their debts to the budget. Thus the total number of debtors is 5,043. A total of 2,366 debtors did not pay their dues in time. They have no receivables from banks and third persons and owe more than BGN 5,000 each. They have not obtained permission for rescheduled payment. As of February 13, 1,356 persons appeared at the tax administration offices after invitation but did not take actions to settle their debts. A total of 1,321 debtors have property on which the tax administration has imposed security measures.
