Bulgaria’s Chimco AD should not book depreciation costs to the amount of BGN 75.064, the company's auditor thinks. This raises the fertiliser plant's annual loss 8.5-fold to BGN 80.951 million. Before that, the negative result of the company ranged between BGN 15 and 20 million a year. In 2004 Chimco did not post sales income, did not gained economic benefits from its assets, so we believe the assets should not be amortised, the auditor told the PARI daily. The most likely explanation for the huge amortisation is the fact that in 2003 the costs were calculated only on part of the assets. It also turns out that nothing is certain concerning the company's assets, because Chimco did not took stock in 2004. We do not have enough evidence to confirm that the assets exist and that their value is correct, the auditor said. The report was approved in the end but with reserves. This makes the whole statement quite dubious, the auditor commented.
