Bourgas’ Mayor Yoan Kostadinov has discussed with transport minister Petar Mutafchiev the possible transferring of the ownership of some port berths to the municipality. Some BGN 20m will be invested this year into a deep draft access channel at the port of Bourgas, on the Black Sea. Mutafchiev said he hoped the facility will be operational by 2007.
