In 2000, natural gas distributor Bulgargas has transited 11,894m cu.m. of gas to Balkan countries, 14.2% up from 1999 and 57.5% up from 1998, Executive Director Kiril Gegov announced. By 2002 the transit volume is expected to reach 17,000m cu.m. The company's programme to expand the network of transit pipelines will have been completed by then, Gegov said. The company spent BGN 140m to expand its transit network last year. A total of 260 km of large-diameter transit pipelines were installed in 1999-2000. Another 46 km of pipelines remain to be built in 2001.
