Three, instead of four, companies will continue to bid in the procedure for the privatisation of Bulgaria Air. One of the bidders did not meet the requirements, Bulgaria's Privatisation Agency announced Monday. The PA allowed Balkan Hemus Group, owner of Bulgarian private airline Hemus Ai,r and Italy's Air One, bidding through its Bulgaria-registered company - Air One, to continue in the final stage of the procedure. Airlines Bulgaria, owned by Aegean Airlines, bidding through Bulgarian Post Bank AD were also proclaimed eligible to bid for a 99.99% in the carrier. York Bulgaria Investments Ltd EAD, a daughter company of York Capital, did not succeed to prove compliance with Bulgaria's privatisation rules.
The three companies should place non-binding offers for the acquisition of Bulgaria Air not later than August 17. The privatisation deal could be finalized by the end of October, Transport Minister Petar Mutafchiev has announced earlier.
