The Bulgarian power regulator has issued a 10-month license to Tren, a wholly-owned unit of the National Railway Infrastructure Company (NRIC), to operate as an electricity trader. Tren will sell electricity to national railway carrier BDZ, allowing it to cut BGN 14m in annual costs. The power trader is expected to begin commercial operations on Oct 1 at the latest.
