In October’23, the total business climate index decreased 2.7% MoM. Services (+1.8% MoM) was the only growing sector, while Retail (-7.5% MoM), Construction (-4.6% MoM) and Industry (-1.7% MoM) registered declines during the month. Retail trade’s most serious factors limiting activity are economic uncertainty, competition and insufficient demand. The problem in the construction sector continues to be the uncertain economic environment, cost of materials and shortage of labour. The biggest challenges facing the services sector are economic uncertainty and competition. The main problems facing the industry sector remain economic uncertainty and shortage of labour, although in the last month a decrease of their negative influence has been reported.
