Bulgaria's foreign debt stood at USD 9,984 million as of December 1999. It is down by USD 211 million from January 1999. The long-term obligations of the country have increased, fetching USD 9,464 million last December. The short-term obligations were halved last year to USD 520.3 million as to December. The debt to official creditors totaled USD 4,047 million and to private creditors USD 5,417 million.
