The recent surge in global oil prices will restrict Bulgaria's end-year 2005 economic growth and further inflate its current account deficit. ''Our forecast shows the deficit would be 10.1% of GDP at the end of the year,' economy minister Rumen Ovcharov told journalists. 'The higher prices would shrink economic growth by 0.2-0.3%,' he added. The government previously forecast an end-year current account gap of 9.2% of GDP and economic growth of 5.2%.
