Bulgarian Higia clinic to list on local bourse_x000d_

Pazardjik-based clinic Higia intends to pursue a listing on the Bulgarian stock exchange. The company submitted a public offering prospectus on May 18, said the Financial Supervision Commission which will have one month to approve or reject the papers of the first domestic health care establishment willing to be traded publicly. Higia, one of the best-equipped Bulgarian clinics, was founded in 1996. The company is 82%-owned by Higia Ltd, and has a capital of 2 mln levs. The shareholders intend to invest the resource raised by the public offering in new equipment, expansion of the hospital building and the addition of a hotel for guests. The number of hospital beds is planned to increase from 58 at present to 80 by the year's end.
