The U.S.-registered software group Sirma, fully owned by Bulgarian nationals, said on Wednesday it was negotiating an USD 6 million investment from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the World Bank's investment arm. The biggest part of the planned USD 6-million IFC investment will be made in the form of a loan while the remaining part will be equity investment through which the IFC will acquire a minority stake in Sirma Group. The loan is expected to be for seven years and annual interest rate is expected to equal LIBOR+4%. Since 1998, revenues of Sirma companies have been growing by 100% each year, reaching USD 4 million in 2000.
