Orgachim, the Rousse-based paints and varnish maker, has opened a trade office in Italian city Turin, the Bulgarian Stock Exchange said on Thursday, January 5. The office, Orgachim's first outpost abroad, is part of the company's strategy to gain a foothold on the European markets, said Irena Mitsova, the investor relations director. Orgachim, which controls 35% of the domestic market, generates 50% of its sales abroad. Phthalic anhydride and resins account for over 90% of Orgachim's exports. Sister company Policolor buys most of the resin output while Egypt is the top market for Orgachim's phthalic anhydride. Finished products like paints and laquers make up the remaining 10% of exports. The goal of the company is to boost sales of end-products.
