Bulgartabac Denies Illegal Production of Cigarettes for Turkey.

Bulgaria's state tobacco monopoly Bulgartabac on Monday denied Turkish press reports alleging that the company produced cigarettes, which were illegally sold in Turkey. The Turkish daily Sabah said that Tekel 2000 cigarettes illegally manufactured in Bulgaria were being sold in Istanbul. "Foreign businessmen have tried to order to Bulgartabac cigarettes of brands for which they have no licence including Tekel 2000," a statement by Bulgartabac said. "Bulgartabac has always rejected such orders.
