Danish company Carlsberg Breweries submitted a new tender offer to buy out the minority shares in Pirinsko Pivo January 21. Carlsberg Breweries owns 94,5 percent in the Blagoevgrad-based brewery, after it paid BGN 74 M at the beginning of January to increase its stake. The decision of the State Securities Commission is expected next week. The exercise aims to delist the shares of the brewery from trading on the Stock Exchange. Carlsberg Breweries wants to buy the remaining 56,767 shares at a price of BGN 26, 54, identical to the price at which Carlsberg acquired majority stake in the brewery. At least 50% of the minority shareholders must approve the delisting of the brewery. Pirinsko Pivo brewery is considered one of the fastest growing breweries in Bulgaria in the last five years.
