The Ministry of Agriculture has been seeking solution of the problem with low yields and insufficient oiliness of sunflower crop, which was damaged by the drought this summer, Mehmed Dikme, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, said. A position is expected to be ready next week. According to Minister Dikme, the tobacco crop has also been damaged by the drought and yields are expected at 40,000 – 42,000 tones. According to Bulgaria’s position presented to the EU, tobacco production in the country should reach 70,000 tones.
