Last year only one-third of the assets in the banking sector went for loans to the enterprise sector, according to the annual report of the Agency for Economic Analysis and Projections. This is a low level of lending, Agency Executive Director Mariela Nenova said on Friday. A growth of 5.8%, cash budget deficit of 1% against a target of 1.5%, and a USD 696 million deficit on the balance of payments are some of the figures in the report. The best pace of development was identified in industry. The greatest share of exports were products of metallurgy, the chemical and textile industry. At the end of 2000, 51.4% of all state-owned assets had been privatized.
