Fibank announced that it will extend the Programme for the issue of perpetual, non-cumulative, uncollateralized, deeply subordinated, non-convertible bonds which meet the requirements for additional Tier 1 (AT1) capital within the meaning of Art. 52 of Regulation (EU) No. 575/2013. Note that the Programme was initially launched in December 2021 with 1 year term for a total amount of up to EUR 100m. Up to date, the Bank has placed EUR 40m at 8% fixed annual interest rate in four tranches through private offerings. The first three tranches (EUR 30m in total) were consolidated into a single series listed on Luxembourg Stock Exchange in June 2022.
The funds will be used for implementation of the bank’s long-term strategy for lending to SME’s and private individuals, as well as, where possible, for replacement of two of the existing AT1 instruments – the 12.75% EUR 40m, issued in tranches in 2011-2012 period and the 11% EUR 60m, issued in tranches in 2012-2013 period.
