The supervisory board of the National Social Security Institute (NSSI) oked last week the draft budget of the institution, projecting revenues at 3.38 bln levs (66.5% payable by the employers, 22.9% by the employees and 4.7% by the self-employed) and outlays at 4.46 bln levs while leaving a shortfall of over 1 bln levs to be offset by the state budget. A report attached to the budget warns that the biggest threat to the 2005 state budget bill will be posed by the lay-offs in high-income industries such as telecoms, mining, energy, tobacco and finance.
