The European Commission has approved the possibility to finance Hemus highway and four intercity roads, according to the Minister of Regional Development Rosen Plevneliev. The EC has included Hemus highway and the roads Ruse-Shumen, Varna-Durankulak, Plovdiv-Rudozem and Dupnitza- Ihtiman in the updated trans-European road network. The decision is still on technical level while the political decision should be taken by 30 June 2011. The projects are likely to be included in the next program period after 2013. Their total value is estimated at €2.5bn while the EU financing is expected to be €2bn.
