The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said on Tuesday Bulgaria's economic growth will slow down sharply to 1% this year due to the downturn in partner countries and only modest net capital inflows. Its current forecast provides for a GDP growth of 1% in 2009, but the institution points that there are significant risks that the slowdown could be even sharper. Under the pessimistic scenario, Bulgaria's economy would shrink by 3% in 2009 and another 1% in 2010.
