Bulgaria’s Jul’20 harmonized consumer price index /HICP/ gained 0.8% on a monthly basis while adding 0.4% on an annual basis. Prices of food and non-alcoholic drinks, which have the largest weight in the index, lost 1.1% MoM (+5.1% YoY). Prices of utilities, on the other hand, added 1.5% MoM (+0.7% YoY), while those of transportation increased 0.8% MoM (-9.2% YoY). The price index for restaurants and hotels advanced by 7.5% MoM (+1.1% YoY). YTD inflation turned positive and stood at 0.2% while the average annual HICP for the last 12 months was 2.0%.
