Mekom has recently started to export to Russia according to the majority owner Stefan Raychev, cited by Dnevnik daily. The meat processing company has received a license and has signed a contract for a few million USD monthly with four large Russian companies. The Russian sales have not been forecasted in this year budget and will have positive effect on the company’s financials. Mekom is currently trying to raise BGN 14m in preferred stock in order to co-finance its BGN 34m investment in the modernization of the factory farm. The preferred stock issue will pay 18% annual dividend.
