Bulgaria's Bulstrad and TBI have set up a fund for investment in agricultural land. The special purpose vehicle, Agro Finance, kicks off with a BGN 500,000 capital and will invest in North Bulgaria. The fund has been already registered at the Central Depository, its prospectus is waiting for approval by the Financial Supervision Commission.
We will begin with purchases in the northern part of the country, where the land is still cheaper. That does not include the Dobrudja region, where the prices are already quite high, operation manager Valentin Tomov said. The purchased land will be leased out or sold.
