Raiffeisen Research expects Bulgaria’s economy to remain flat YoY in 2010 after an estimated 5% YoY drop in 2009 and for 2011 the GDP is expected to grow by 3% YoY. Raiffeisen projects YoY average inflation in the country in 2010 to remain the same as in 2009, at 3%, and to rise to 3.8% in 2011. The budget deficit is expected to decline to 0.5% of GDP in 2011 after reaching 1.2% of GDP this year. Raiffeisen’s expectations are that that the current account gap, which has been shrinking since the crisis hit imports, will be 12.9% of GDP in 2010 and 12.2% of GDP in 2011.
