The contest for a consultant on the sale of Bulgaria's tobacco giant Bulgartabac Holding will start this week, Economy Minister Lidiya Shuleva said on Thursday. On Wednesday, MPs okayed the strategy for a piecemeal sale of the Holding. According to the freshly prepared plan, the holding itself - not the state Privatization Agency - will conduct the procedure. The consultant will decide when to start procedures for the sale of separate Bulgartabac-owned factories, Shuleva explained. She also said that the Bank of New York and leading global financial firm JP Morgan were among candidates for the consultant post.
