Bulgaria's Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC) allowed Austria's EVN to buy 100% of the heating utility (Toplofikatsia) in Plovdiv. France's Dalkia was given the green light to acquire Toplofikatsia of Varna, the anti-trust body said. EVN is owner of the electricity distribution utilities in the regions of Plovdiv and Stara Zagora. However, the CPC decided that the distribution of electricity and heating are two different markets and okayed the deal. The sale of the heating utility in Varna will not give Dalkia a dominant position. At the same time the French company is an experienced investor, which will enhance Toplofikatsia's development, the CPC said.
