Significant Growth in General Insurance Sector .

07.03.2000

Nearly all general insurance companies will post a considerable growth as compared to 1998, according to a forecast of the Insurance Supervision Directorate /ISD/. Life insurance, however, will keep the premium income rate or will post a minimum drop-down. In relation to the product structure of the premium income and the place of the separate insurance companies and mutual insurance cooperatives no considerable changes are expected to occur on the market. By March 31 the now acting insurance brokers have to submit documents for licensing. According to ISD, the interest to the insurance intermediation sector is quite big. ISD expects newly-established natural and legal persons, who have not operated as insurance intermediaries, to apply for licence for insurance brokers
