Slovenia's largest insurance company, Triglav, will expand its operations in the Balkans by launching insurance services in Bulgaria, Romania and Albania, Andrei Kocic, chairman of the management board and chief executive director of the company, said in an interview for Bloomberg news agency. The move is prompted by the company's aim to establish itself as a market leader in the Balkan countries. Ljubljana-based Triglav is the oldest insurance company in Slovenia and operates in the field of general, life insurance and reinsurance. Triglav is a leader in Southeastern Europe with a 22-percent market share. The gross premium income of the company amounted to EUR 813m in 2006.
