According to media speculations, the Sofia-based The Mall would be sold for a price between EUR 70-120m, and the new owner would assume the existing debts of EUR 60-65m. The 2015 EBITDA of the shopping center was ca. EUR 10m, a 71% EBITDA margin. The buyer is rumoured to be South Africa based New Europe Property Investment. The deal has been submitted for approval with the Competition Protection Commission. The Mall is currently owned by Assos Capital, the PE fund of Greek businessman Victor Restis. It has GLA of 66.6k sq.m., which includes a 15k sq.m. grocery hypermarket, sold separately to Unicredit Bulbank earlier this year.
