The Coalition for Bulgaria, the UDF and the National Idea for Unity (NIU) urged for cancellation of the procedure for privatization of BTC after yesterday’s Supreme Administrative Court’s decision to restore Viva Ventures to the deal. The left invited all parliamentary represented parties to discuss the future of the telecom but only NIU turned up. Talks with the ruling majority are also possible. “BTV is an example of how privatization must not be carried out”, Rumen Ovcharov (right) of the Socialist Party said. UDF does not want to hold consultations and believes that a new procedure should be launched. Valeri Dimitrov of SNM said that a cancellation of the deal would be appealed by the candidates and that would not help BTC much. According to Yunal Tasim of MRF, the Government Coalition Partner, it is too late to talk about termination of the privatization. This would be a really bad sign for investors.
