Bulgarian tobacco producers and importers will be able to apply to the Economy and Energy Minister for price fixation four times a year. The council of ministers approved a decree, regulating the price formation of locally produced cigarettes and imported ones on Thursday. The decree aims at limiting the possibilities for dumping prices of imported cigarettes, as this practice could hurt the local manufacturers, Economy and Energy Minister Rumen Ovcharov commented. He met with the syndicate of tobacco workers to sign an agreement stating that EUR 1.2 M was to be paid to Bulgartabak Holding workers. The money should cover the debts that the holding has accumulated to its workers from unpaid salaries and compensation for workers that are about to be laid off. The need for such an agreement arose after tobacco workers from "Haskovo BT" holding rallied in front of the Council of Ministers' building in Sofia, because they hadn't been paid.
