Tourist stays in Bulgarian hotels up 3.7% YoY in October; average occupancy rate at 18.4%

Tourist overnight stays in Bulgarian hotels in October’15 came to 727.8 k, up by 3.7% compared to the corresponding month the previous year. The revenue from overnight stays increased with 4.2% compared to October 2014, reaching BGN 36.0m, as the revenues from Bulgarian and foreign tourists increased with 6.2% and 2.2%, respectively. The total number of tourists in Bulgarian hotels was up by 5.6% YoY to 361.7k. The average occupancy rate of the hotels during the month was 18.4%, down with 0.6% YoY, where for the 4- and 5-star hotels it stood at 22.4% and for the 3-star hotels at 13.7%.
