The receivers of the British Camell Laird refused to implement the rehabilitation plan for the Varna Shipyard, accepted by the general meeting of the shipyard's creditors held on August 30, 2000. In April, 2001 the British company, which developed the plan as a candidate for the shipyard, was ruled insolvent. The British bid is challenged by 11 dissatisfied creditors before the Supreme Court of Cassation, which will convene on the case on September 27 this year. Camell Laird offered BGN 28.6 million to be restored to the creditors, with the total debt of the Varna Shipyard amounting to BGN 165 million. The Swedish Fison Invest, the next candidate for the shipyard, launched a series of meetings in Varna, to present its bid.
