The World Bank approved a $50 million loan to Bulgaria to improve environmental standards, especially for state companies that the government is selling to private investors. The loan will help Bulgaria to raise its environmental standards to the EU's requirements for admission, the bank said in a statement. The 20-year loan is one of about 20 projects worth about $1.2 billion that the World Bank has approved for Bulgaria since the country became a member of the bank a decade ago
